2027 GMC HUMMER EV ICON | 25: The Electric Icon Turns 25

The HUMMER name has reached a major milestone, and GMC is marking the occasion with something suitably bold. The 2027 GMC HUMMER EV ICON | 25 is a limited-run edition created to celebrate 25 years of the HUMMER nameplate, bringing together the brand’s recognizable heritage and its modern all-electric identity. 

A New Chapter for the HUMMER Legacy

HUMMER first became a mainstream automotive icon with the H2, followed by the H3. The nameplate returned in 2020 in a completely different form, this time as an all-electric supertruck under GMC. The HUMMER EV subsequently expanded into both Pickup and SUV body styles.

The ICON | 25 represents the latest chapter in that evolution. Rather than simply celebrating the past, GMC has used the anniversary edition to highlight how the HUMMER identity has transitioned into the electric era. 

Inspired by the Iconic H2

One of the most recognizable elements of the new edition is its ICON Yellow exterior paint. The color takes inspiration from the signature yellow associated with the HUMMER H2, but has been reinterpreted for the modern HUMMER EV.

The special edition also receives new 22-inch wheels with a Deep Void finish, HUMMER EV lettering on the center caps and, on the SUV, an ICON Yellow spare-wheel and tire-cover insert.

Inside, the ICON | 25 gets a Jet Black interior along with a serialized ICON | 25 badge on the passenger-side instrument panel. The infotainment system also features unique drive-mode graphics inspired by previous HUMMER models. 

Available as Both Pickup and SUV

GMC is offering the ICON | 25 in both HUMMER EV Pickup and HUMMER EV SUV body styles. The limited edition will be available on 2X and 3X trims, giving customers the choice between two different interpretations of the electric HUMMER formula. 

The wider 2027 HUMMER EV lineup also receives several updates. One of the most important is the addition of a native NACS charging inlet, meaning owners will not need an adapter for compatible NACS charging connections. GMC is also continuing to offer bidirectional vehicle-to-home charging capability on equipped vehicles. 

Still a Serious Electric Supertruck

Despite the anniversary focus, the ICON | 25 is not just a styling exercise. The 2027 HUMMER EV continues to feature technologies such as CrabWalk, King Crab, 4-Wheel Steer, Extract Mode and Air Ride Adaptive suspension.

The 3X Pickup can deliver up to 1,160 horsepower, with GM estimating 0–60 mph acceleration in as little as 2.8 seconds when equipped with the available 24-module battery. GMC also continues to offer available Super Cruise and the Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels. 

Expected Availability

GMC says production of the 2027 HUMMER EV and ICON | 25 will begin later in 2026 at GM’s Factory ZERO Assembly Center in Michigan. The ICON | 25 is expected to reach customers in early 2027, with limited quantities planned for the United States and Canada. Pricing and additional production details are expected closer to launch.
